RECORD STORE DAY AND MAKING VINYL ANNOUNCE FIRST-EVER RSD CAMP EUROPE

New European gathering will connect independent record shops, labels, distributors and the wider vinyl industry
Record Store Day coordinators from across Europe will come together next year for the inaugural Record Store Day Camp Europe, taking place in Haarlem, the Netherlands, from 27–28 September 2027.
Inspired by the successful Record Store Day Summer Camp, which takes place in New Orleans each summer, the two-day event will bring together European record shops, labels, distributors and organisers to share ideas, discuss common challenges and explore how territories can work more closely together.
RSD Camp Europe will take place ahead of Making Vinyl, from 29 September - 1 October, followed by the Haarlem Record Fair, from 1-3 October.
Record Store Day has grown into a major annual celebration across Europe, bringing together hundreds of independent record shops, artists and music fans across the continent. In the UK and Ireland, over 300 independent record shops took part in 2026, with sales up 25% year on year and record-breaking footfall. In France, Disquaire Day reaches more than 130,000 participants across 220 participating record shops in over 90 cities, while in the Netherlands, 160 artists took part in more than 250 free in-store performances and signing sessions for Record Store Day 2026.
Working with
Making Vinyl, Record Store Day will develop a programme focused on the shared priorities and opportunities facing labels and independent record retailers across Europe.
Kim Bayley of RSD UK said: “Often European labels and shops are unable to travel to New Orleans for RSD Summer Camp but would benefit hugely from coming together. Bringing the Camp to Europe gives us an opportunity to connect those communities, share what’s working in different territories and look at what we can do better together.”
Bryan Ekus, President of Making Vinyl said:
“Vinyl’s future depends on stronger connections between the people who create and manufacture records and the independent shops that place them in the hands of music fans. Bringing RSD Camp Europe to Haarlem alongside Making Vinyl creates a unique opportunity for retailers, labels, distributors and manufacturers to learn from one another, build meaningful relationships and develop practical ideas that will strengthen the entire European vinyl community.”
Further details on Record Store Day Camp Europe will be announced in due course.
